Y'all I packed t-shirts and flip-flops for this part if this trip. I mean, it's SoCal Baby. Sun! Surf! And it never rains in Southern California so it stands to reason that snow is absolutely out of the question.
But last night, there was a big old Southwest snow storm that hit Grapevine Hill--the pass we would go over on the most direct path from Bakersfield to L.A.
And the pass is now closed. Because of snow.
Whaaaaat?????
That means we have to take a roundabout war to the City if Angels.
To our West is the 101. It would get us there the most scenically, but it would literally take us all day. So we've opted for the Eastern route. However, all the snow is to the East of us...
Snow on the hills...
It's a bit of a gamble, but the Big Bus went before us, and said the route was clear.
Fingers crossed!
We'll let you know how it goes.
