Vegas Baby

If a baby visits Las Vegas twice in two weeks, can she officially qualify as a Vegas Baby? Just asking.

Tonight we open for Willie at Planet Hollywood. It's Lisel's second time in Vegas and Claire's first.

Like I've said before, I love Sin City in all it's tawdry illusionist jangle and strut.. And I would love to show Claire a bit of Vegas on a Saturday night. But alas, a night in the Casinos is not to be. Because of the natural law of the road. Our gig tomorrow is in San Jose, CA, ten hours. (at least) away. We pretty much have to leave right after the tonight's show.

I'm not complaining. I'm just stating the facts. I can't remember if I've mentioned this before, but there is a natural law of the road that states that when you may only rarely stay the night in the super sweet places. Like the time we had rooms at the Four Seasons in D.C. To his day I hold they were the nicest rooms we've ever stayed in. So nice in fact that I bites out the camera and took pictures. I can't remember what we had he next day, but I do know that we had to skedaddle. We had four hours at the four seasons. One for each season.

So there will be no nightlife, but in my mind I convinced myself that we would have the energy and the wherewiththal to show Claire Vegas by day. Maybe lunch at the Bellagio followed by a gondola ride at the Venetian and competed by coffee at the Wynn.

Yeah right.

I guess i forgot that A) We would just have been traveling six plus hours with a ten hour overnight drive looming large in our minds B) Getting up and down the strip and flittling from one casino to another is actually quite exhausting and C) Hello! Eleven month old baby in the house!

Apart from a drive up and down the strip when we first got here, to which Claire commented "Maybe it's more impressive at night," this is what Vegas has looked like thus far.

Hey, it's actually pretty great. Never underestimate the power of a restful hotel room hang.

We're heading to the venue early. It's in the Alladin, so maybe we'll get to explore at least one Casino beforehand. And then we'll play the gig which, I suspect, judging by the three previous shows, will be amazing.

The baby just woke up from seconds nap. Check you later.
