Leaf Peeping

All through the last  big trip to the East Coast I wanted to talk about leaf peeping, mostly because I like writing/thinking/saying leaf peeping.  We definitely peeped some serious leaves on that trip, though not in New England, where they have like, a leaf peeping industry. All the hotels were full up and down the New England Coast due to leaf peeping tours. But when we were there it was very drear -- lots of rain and mist and gray skies. More stay inside and eat split pea soup weather while wrapping your warm blanket around you weather that peep at leaves weather.  But West Virginia! Holy Mountain Mama, did we peep some leaves! When we pointed it out to Lisel, she said "They're Rainbow Trees!" And she was so right.  Here in Texas, leaf peeping is rare. Fall is actually our second growing season, so we peep the green, rather the reds, oranges and yellows. Our course, we peeped many a colored leaf, but snapped not a pic. Luckily Ray snapped this photo above, and it letting me use it so that you too may get a peak into the leaves we peeped.
And now I think I may have actually quenched my thirst to write/thing/say Leaf Peeping.

Psych!

I think Ray was probably more interested in whether to use the big stick or the 3 wood than he was on the leaves. Still, a nice pic.

I lost focus when you mentioned split pea soup. Mmmmmm. It has been so long since I've had a good bowl of home made SPS.

I love the idea of Rainbow trees.

And, good thing Ray went golfing and took his camera (or perhaps just his phone) along!
